Criterion Collection kündigt für den US-Markt die umfangreiche Box „The Complete Kubrick“ an. Die Sammlung vereint erstmals das komplette filmische Werk von Stanley Kubrick und umfasst seine dreizehn Spielfilme sowie drei Kurzfilme. Alle Werke wurden in 4K restauriert und werden mit den ursprünglichen englischen Tonfassungen sowie restaurierten 5.1-Abmischungen angeboten.
Zum Inhalt der Edition gehören unter anderem „Killer’s Kiss“, „The Killing“, „Paths of Glory“, „Spartacus“, „Lolita“, „Dr. Strangelove“, „2001: A Space Odyssey“, „A Clockwork Orange“, „Barry Lyndon“, „The Shining“, „Full Metal Jacket“ und „Eyes Wide Shut“. Insgesamt umfasst die Veröffentlichung 30 Discs auf 4K UHD und Blu-ray.
Darüber hinaus enthält die Box mehr als 25 Stunden an Interviews, Dokumentationen und weiterem Begleitmaterial. Zu den Besonderheiten zählen die internationale Schnittfassung von „The Shining“, eine neue 4K-Restauration von Vivian Kubricks Dokumentation „Making The Shining“, neue Audiokommentare sowie seltenes Archivmaterial zu mehreren Filmen. Verpackt wird die Edition in einer aufwendig gestalteten Sammlerbox, die von Kubricks legendärem Archiv inspiriert wurde und mit seltenen Fotografien, Illustrationen und von Kubrick kommentierten Dokumenten versehen ist.

Wären ein paar Tausender nur „Kleingeld“, dann würde ich direkt zig Boxen ordern um derart gute VÖs zu supporten.
Was ich meine: endlich mal was vollständiges, hochwertiges, restauriertes und gut umgesetztes.
Also, wenn das nicht mal eine Box ist, die ich im 50%-Sale kaufen werde. Dann kostest das ganze 250 Dollar. Das wäre ein Super-Preis. So habe ich damals auch die Ingmar Bergmann-Edition von Criterion zu einem guten Kurs bekommen.
Edit: sehe gerade, dass Fear and Desire doch enthalten ist. Damit ist die Collection wirklich „complete“

Geniale Box aber viel zu überteuert, noch dazu weil ich davon ungefähr die Hälfte bereits im Steelbook habe.
Und wieder…..Volles Interesse, bis ich den Preis sah….
